Chinese Wood Carving of Shao Lao Republic Era

A classically posed Chinese immortal figure from the Chinese Republic Period has with auspicious symbols and has been carved from hardwood. The carving is deep with good detail in the face, beard, and robe. The figure stands on a raised stand and holds a staff and peaches. The wood is heavy and tight grained and a single piece. It has been stained dark with a slight red cast.

The figure stands at around 27cm and is in original condition, quite the rarity to find one this clean.
